Mosquito is an anti loitering device that uses high frequency noise to disperse groups of anti-social youths. It helps prevent vandalism and reduces confrontations, so law enforcement services are called upon less frequently.
Due to age related hearing loss, most people over the age of 25 can’t hear the high frequency (17kHz) Mosquito emits and are unaffected. For people under 25, the frequency is safe but extremely unpleasant and encourages them to leave the area.
Mosquito Loitering Solutions Ltd were having issues with the reliability of their control PCB and speakers. We carried out thorough testing that led to us creating a better PCB design and a more appropriate speaker specification. Our changes lead to a far more efficient system that suffered considerably less failures and warranty returns.
